How we operate

Our Mission

  • To continually develop Richmond Ravers Netball Club as a community club through the provision of comprehensive and skill-developing training programs;

  • To build on talent, foster teamwork and encourage the pursuit of improvement;

  • To ask that our coaches and players are fully committed and ensure that the principles of Netball (participation, fitness, competition, teamwork and sportsmanship) are always maintained.

Selection for Matches

  • Players are selected for matches based on Ability, Compatibility, Commitment and Attendance at training.

  • Selection is made the week before the match dates and confirmation will be made by Teamo by 6pm the preceding Tuesday to those who have been invited to play.

  • Parents are requested to respond promptly to requests made on Teamo regarding match selection. Parents are reminded to update any changes to their contact details on Teamo.

  • For those players selected there will be an additional match fee of £5. Cash payment to be placed in a named envelope and handed in on the Saturday prior to the match.

Absences

  • To avoid administrative issues and assist lesson planning if you are not available for training you must update your availability on Teamo.  Whilst we appreciate your diligence with this request should there be 3 un-notified absences in any one term it will result in suspension for the remainder of that term and a forfeit of the fees.

  • Commitment levels at training are extremely important and lack of attendance may influence a player’s selection into teams and tournaments and interfere with skills progression.

Fees

  • Fees for whole term are payable in advance and you will be notified of the payment deadlines. If the deadline cannot be met please contact Julie to request alternative arrangements.

Training Kit

  • Sportswear should be comfortable and suitable for the weather conditions. Although Club kit is optional we ask that players respect the club’s identity by wearing dark sweatshirts, plain white t shirts and grey/dark bottoms to training if the Richmond Ravers kit cannot be worn for any reason. It is requested that you do not send your daughter in her school kit.

  • Club kit must be worn for tournaments (Ravers hoodie with Dress and under shorts) and it is the player’s responsibility to ensure they have kit when representing Richmond Ravers. All club kit can be purchased from the kit shop (password: RRNC) except for the hoodies which can be purchased during the first 2 weeks of the season. (Ages 9-11 and 12-13 are £25, ages 14-15 and Senior are £30.) Samples will be available to view and payment for hoodies to be made via cash placed in a named envelope.

  • To participate in club training sessions and matches long hair must be tied back and nails cut short. No jewellery is permitted and sports trainers, not fashion footwear, must be worn.

Wet Weather

  • We may be challenged by weather conditions during the season and we will address this at the time.

  • Please assume training will go ahead even in wet conditions whenever the courts remain safe to do so.

  • Any decision to cancel will be made giving as much notice as possible to avoid unnecessary travel.

  • Notification of cancellation will be made by Teamo.

  • We ask for your understanding and patience during bad weather announcements.

Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy

  • Lindsey Sinclair is the Child Protection Officer for Richmond Ravers N.C.

  • In addition, Julie Laidler, Lindsey Sinclair and several coaches in various groups have all attended a Child Protection course.

Other

  • Once you become a member of Richmond Ravers Netball Club you are agreeing to our ‘single club’ policy. This means that during term time, should you train with, or become a member of another netball club your membership with Richmond Ravers will be withdrawn . The exception to this rule is for members who are progressing through the England Netball pathway groups, who we support and encourage in their endeavours. This policy is shared with other England Netball affiliated clubs within Surrey.

  • Parents are asked to ensure that all siblings are members of Richmond Ravers only and not at different clubs, as historically this only serves to create problems.

  • Richmond Ravers can decide at its absolute discretion not to continue to provide coaching to individual players.  Only in exceptional circumstances will fees be re-imbursed.

If parents have any concerns about any of our young members please approach, in confidence, to Lindsey Sinclair or one of the named coaches.
