Meet the Ravers team!

Lewis Keeling

Director of Netball/Head Coach

As a leading figure in the Men’s and Mixed netball scene since 2012, Lewis has had a significant impact in the growth and performance of men’s and mixed netball across the UK.

Lewis has played high level netball since 2012 and was selected for England in the mixed team at the 2016 Indoor Netball World Cup in New Zealand. On his return he recognised the need for a pathway for men’s netball, Lewis co-founded Knights Netball in 2018, which has grown to become one of Europe’s leading men’s and mixed netball clubs, winning multiple national championships. In 2022, Lewis became a member of The Thorns, the England Men’s netball team, and plays GK/GS at international level to this day.

Since 2023, Lewis has been heavily involved with junior netball coaching and in April 2024 left his role as a Client Services Director for a software company to pursue a portfolio of roles in the netball industry full time. Richmond Ravers welcomed him to the club as Head Coach in September 2024 and in 2025, alongside his wife Deborah, Lewis took over the club as Director of Netball.

Lou Grainger

Head Coach

Lou is a decorated netballer and comes from a background of primary school teaching where she was an early years lead teacher until early 2025 when she stepped back from teaching to follow a career in netball. Lou has 16 years teaching experience across the whole primary age range, including introducing many young athletes into the netball world.

Lou’s netball career includes but is not limited to:

Club Captain and Coaching roles during a long career at Rushmoor Netball. 2016 Nets Open Women’s World Champion and the New Zealand World Championships. 2022 EMMNA Mixed National Champion with Knights Netball. EMMNA England Mixed Player 2022-24. Knights Netball Coach and Committee Member.

Lou is a vibrant and enthusiastic coach whose love for the sport and passion for passing on her extensive netball knowledge to young athletes is clear to all who meet her.

Deborah Keeling

Director of Administration/Coach

Deborah has been working as an administrator in netball clubs since 2023 and is the key administrator at Richmond Ravers.

Whilst this is her main contribution to the club she is also a qualified umpire and coach.

She co-runs a netball after school club locally and really enjoys seeing the children progress both their knowledge and skills in the sport.

Deborah comes from an very sporty family and enjoyed playing netball for her school team and beyond into her adult years. Upon moving to London Deborah played mixed netball to a good standard before hanging up her netball trainers when her two little ones arrived.

She is so excited and honoured to be working within the lovely Ravers community.

Maisie Doherty

Coach

Maisie has coached netball for 3 years and has been a Ravers coach since September 2023.

Maisie coaches at primary schools, secondary schools and St Marys university where she is the netball president and founder of the mixed netball club.

Her hard work within the netball scene at University led to her winning 2 awards for her diligence and dedication to improving the engagement of netball at University.

Maisie has played netball for 10 years including being a part of the Saracens Mavericks pathway for 2 years and competing within the South East tier 2 league with the university 1st Netball team.

Manish Manoj

Coach

Manish joined the Ravers coaching team in 2025 and has made a great impact ever since.

As a player Manish began his netball journey in 2019 when joining the University of Warwick Mixed Netball Club. A couple of years later, and after joining Surrey Hurricanes he was named ‘Player of the Tournament’ at the England Men’s and Mixed Netball Association (EMMNA) Nationals Championships. Following this Manish was selected to be part of the England Men’s programme, and more recently captained the England U25 Trailblazers to a bronze medal at the 2024 Men’s Netball Nations Series in Singapore.

Manish’s netball coaching experience includes coaching at Warwick and Surrey Hurricanes, alongside this he is also a cricket coach with roles at Indian Gymkhana CC and Tiffin School.

Laura Hughes

Coach

Laura has been playing netball for over 35 years, she played throughout school and university and then for Teddington NC, reaching Division 1 (Kingston League) and Premier B (Surrey League).

Laura is a qualified netball coach and is has been coaching at Broomfield House school for 5 years.

Her proudest moments to date are coaching two U11 teams to National Finals and winning the Bowl in 2023. Laura is also a coach for the Richmond netball team in the London Youth Games.

Laura has been officially coaching at Ravers since 2023 but team managing since 2021 as both her daughters are Ravers Athletes.

Mimi Bowden

Coach

Mimi first started playing netball 11 years ago for a local club and moved to Ravers aged 9 in 2016.

She started coaching at ravers in December 2021 and since then has built experience coaching at club and in school.

Mimi played at ravers until u16 level and in those years she has participated in school, county and franchise, winning England national schools at u14 and u16 level.

Calvin Ward

Coach

After playing netball in a work social team for 3 years, Calvin entered the mixed club scene to develop his skills.

He joined Knights in 2021, taking part in both Men’s and Mixed National league games, and later represented Unicorns, where he also coached numerous Open training sessions.

In 2024, Calvin co-founded Bandits Netball Club where he takes on a supporting coach role and frequently captains the performance team.

As a new member of the Ravers coaching team, Calvin is pleased to be adding to his coaching experience. In addition to this Calvin is an accomplished umpire working across many leagues throughout London.

Grace Best

Coach

Grace is an experienced netball coach with over five years of coaching across a range of age groups and competitive levels. She has coached primary and secondary school teams, as well as university first teams, and currently serves as an Assistant Coach at Ravers Netball Club, a position she has held since November 2024.

Previously, Grace was Head of Sport and Netball at her school. She holds a Level 1 Netball Coaching Certificate and is committed to fostering skill development, teamwork, and a love for the game.

As a player, Grace began her netball journey at the age of six. She progressed to play for Queenswood’s 1st team, and was part of the Turnford Netball Club A team. During her time with Turnford, she competed at the national level and contributed to multiple wins.

Grace brings both playing and coaching experience to her role, along with a passion for developing athletes and promoting excellence in netball.

Harriet Field

Coach

Harriet is an experienced and energetic netball coach, positively bursting with passion for the sport.

Harriet played in the London and SE regional academy growing up, and now as an adult played in county division, regional 1 division, BUCS, premier netball in wellington, NZ. She currently captains her regional 1 team where she is coached by ex super league player and growing up was coached by the Scotland international coach bringing a depth of elite level knowledge.

Harriet has coached netball at St Ceclias’s school for 10 years and is an integral part of their PE team. She coaches netball to ages 6-18 at local netball clubs and at summer camps.

Pearl Midgley

Junior Coach

Pearl has been part of Richmond Ravers since she was in Year 5, over eight years ago! The club has been like a second home to her, and growing up surrounded by such a supportive, inspiring netball community has shaped who she is today.

In September 2022, she started her coaching journey, and it has been one of the best decisions that she has ever made. This began with working amongst the younger age groups as they took their first steps into the world of netball. As time went on, she also began coaching older age groups all the way up to Year 11. For her, it is a privilege to help create the same positive, empowering environment that shaped her own love for the sport.

Outside of coaching, she has had the opportunity to play netball at a county level, and has been a proud member of the netball first team at her school. Whether it's playing or coaching, she feels incredibly lucky to be able to give back to the club that gave her so much, and she can’t wait to keep growing and helping young players find their spark, just like she found hers.

Chloe Vatanavimlakul

Junior Coach

Chloe started coaching at Richmond Ravers in 2025 and is loving working with our young athletes

Chloe began playing netball in year 7 at school and has loved the sport ever since. She has played for the first team at St Cecilia’s in every age group has won the district tournaments multiple times. Chloe has won player's player twice in a row during her time in the school teams and this year was made the captain of the senior netball team.

Chloe started coaching in year 9 and has coached years 4-10 at her school. Alongside coaching at Ravers Chloe is coaching netball at multi sports camps and with the No Limits Kids organisation for kids aged 5-12.

Scarlett Hughes

Junior Coach

Scarlett has been playing netball for seven years and captained the Ravers U15A team during the 2024/25 season. She plays Goal Shooter (GS) for both Ravers and her school, St John’s Leatherhead. Known for her composure and shooting accuracy in high-pressure moments, Scarlett consistently lifts team morale regardless of the match situation. Now in her second year as a junior netball coach, she is passionate about developing her coaching skills and plans to work toward formal coaching qualifications in the years ahead.
